VIGILANCE DEPARTMENT

(A)                   Organisational Set-Up of Vigilance Department

 

                                                                                                             

Vigilance Department of Western Railway is headed by Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer (SDGM & CVO).

He has for his assistance five Dy. Chief Vigilance Officers namelyDy.CVO(T), Dy.CVO (E), Dy.CVO (A), Dy. CVO (S) & Dy.CVO(E/S&T).There are four SS/JS Officers for further assistance.There are thirty-three Vigilance Inspectors to conduct vigilance checks & a centralized office at Churchgate

(B)    Functions of Organization –

(1)To conduct preventive check.

(2)To investigate genuine complaints.

(3)To advise for suspension / transfer / DAR or Administrative action against  defaulted railway employees and Administrative action against defaulted      contractor / Agent / Firm engaged in railway contract.

(4)To hold Vigilance Seminar, lectures, etc. to educate Railway employee to  curb corruption and to promote transparency.

(5)To provide service to executive department by giving Vigilance history to  management at various occasions as well as to liaise with Railway Board,  CBI, CVC & ACB.

(6)To suggest the system improvement as per merit of case to plug loop holes  in the system.

(C)     Duties and Responsibilities of Vigilance Department Officers

SVO (Traffic)

Overall supervision and functioning of Vigilance Cases arising out of Traffic, Commercial and RPF aspect over Western Railway.

Assisting Officer to Dy. CVO (Traffic).

Dy.CVO(Accounts)

Overall supervision and functioning of Vigilance Cases arising out of Estt./ Personnel and Accounts aspect over Western Railway.

Dy. CVO (Stores)


AVO (Mech.)

Overall supervision and functioning of Vigilance Cases arising out of Stores, Medical and Mechanical aspect over Western Railway.

Assisting Officer to Dy. CVO (Stores)

Dy. CVO (Engg.)


SVO (Engg.)

Overall supervision and functioning of Vigilance Cases arising out of Civil Engineering and S&C Department over Western Railway.

Overall supervision and functioning of Vigilance Cases arising out of Electrical and S&T Department aspects over Western Railway.

EO (HQ)

Enquiry Officer (HQ) is responsible for conducting and finalizing DAR enquiries (arisen out of Vigilance cases) nominated to him expeditiously.
