ALERTNESS BY WR STAFF HELPS TO RETURN LEFT BEHIND BAG TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNER

Western Railway’s Security department is always keeping their vigilant eye for ensuring the security of the passengers and safety of their belongings. In continuation to this, recently, a bag containing important documents and cash amounting to Rs 1 lakh which was left behind at Dadar station was found by RPF staff & returned to the owner passenger with the help of Station Superintendent. Shri Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway applauded both the railway staff for their integrity and declared o­n the spot cash award of Rs. 3000/- each, as an encouragement & token of appreciation.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur- Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the passenger Shri. Sukhdev Swami, aged 67 years & a resident of Mira Road had forgotten and left behind his bag at Platform No. 5 of Dadar station, while in a hurry to board the local train. This left behind bag was detected by o­n-duty RPF constable Shri Vikas who deposited the bag with the o­n-duty Station Superintendent/Dadar - Shri Dhanaji M Sawant. o­n checking with the contents of the bag, some important documents & cash amounting to Rs.1,00,000/- were found. With the help of the Aadhar Card found in the bag, Sawant contacted Shri Swami and confirmed about his lost bag. Shri Swami responded positively and reached Dadar station to collect his belongings with identification credentials such as his PAN Card and Aadhar Card. After thorough verification of details, the bag and all its contents were returned to Swami. He thanked the concerned officials profusely for their sincerity & honesty and expressed his gratitude by writing an appreciation letter.
