WR INTRODUCES NEW SECURITY HELPLINE NUMBER 9004441888 FOR CAUTION AGAINST CARRYING INFLAMMABLE ARTICLES IN TRAINS


          With a view to prevent carrying inflammable articles in trains, Western Railway has earmarked a security helpline number 9004441888 for the passengers to report any case of carrying of inflammable articles like Crackers, Kerosene, Stove, Spirit, Paint, Gas Cylinder, Match-box, Welding as cylinders etc. in trains by any co passengers. o­n receiving information about carrying of inflammable articles in trains, strict action will be taken to remove such dangerous articles from the train and against the person carrying them.

 

WR has undertaken a campaign to educate people about the dangers of carrying inflammable articles in trains and in railway premises. This number is being widely publicized through posters in Railway premises, stickers in trains and attractive advertisements in print media. Announcements are also being made at stations in local languages for the awareness of passengers. WR also plans to telecast Radio messages through FM Radio channels for the awareness of general public.

 

It is noteworthy that carrying inflammable articles in trains during journey is illegal and a punishable offence. The offender can get an imprisonment up to 3 years and a fine up to Rs.1000/-or both.
