WR opens new FOB at Kandivili

New FOB constructed over Level Crossing at Kandivili South End,

Also connects the Skywalk

Western Railway has opened an out-to-out Foot Over Bridge at Level Crossing(LC) gate at Kandivili South from today for safer east-west movement of people.

This Foot Over Bridge has been constructed over the LC gate no. 31 which has been closed. The FOB is about six meter wide and about 59 meter in length. This FOB connects the existing FOB at Kandivili station and in the east side it connects to the sky walk. Thus people have East-West connectivity and access to platforms also. This FOB has been constructed above the railway track, without affecting the movement of trains.

Western Railway is providing more and more FOBs for safer and easier movement of commuters and to reduce trespassing. Western Railway has added 19 Foot Over Bridges in last 5 years. At present, there are 92 Foot Over Bridges & 8 Subways on WR Suburban section.

A massive increase in Foot Over Bridges on suburban section has also been planned. Work of construction of 19 new Foot Over Bridges is under progress at Goregaon, Malad, Naigaon, Virar, Dadar, Jogeshwari etc. and 2 subways at Vasai Road and Naigaon stations. 9 more Foot Over Bridges are also proposed for Dadar, Borivali, Bhayander etc. This will facilitate smooth movement of commuters and also help in reducing trespassing on tracks.
