kite flying

OHE wires on WR section between Churchgate – Surat & onwards are charged with 25000V AC current which is very strong. In view of safety of people & smooth operations of train, WR appeals not to fly kites near railway tracks or run across tracks to retrieve kites. People should not try to touch OHE wires with rod or any other means to retrieve a kite as this could endanger their lives and also affect services

Also the thread ( Manjha) might have metal particles in it and if such thread comes into contact with the OHE wire then it could not only prove fatal to the kite flier but also disrupt suburban services for a while. Such thread if touches OHE might cause short circuit causing disruption in services and the person holding such thread can get aelectric shock of 25000 volts.

On 15th January this year, the rail traffic was affected for few minutes on Down through line between Jogeshwari-Goregaon due to the thread of a kite containing glass and metallic substances getting entangled.

Itis also a punishable offence. People should keep away from railway tracks as well as OHE wires.
