100TH FOOT OVER BRIDGE ON SUBURBAN SECTION ON WR

Western Railway has opened a new Foot Over Bridge at Dadar connecting all platforms. This is the 100th Foot Over Bridge on WR's suburban section. WR now has 92 FOBs and 8 Subways on its suburban section including BMC FOBs.

The new Foot Over Bridge is six meter wide and connects platform No.1 to 5. It was constructed mainly during night hours without affecting the traffic as Dadar is one of the busiest stations. The launching of girder was done by moving the road crane on track for launching of west and middle span. The FOB has been built at a cost of about Rs.1.90 Cr.

With a view to provide more convenience to its commuters and also to dissuade them from trespassing and endangering their lives, WR has taken up in hand the construction of 17 more FOBs on its suburban section including busiest stations like Dadar, Borivali, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Vile Parle and Virar besides Matunga Road, Mahalaxmi and Lower Parel.

Western Railway plans to provide 12 escalators on its suburban stations including Dadar, Andheri and Borivali for the convenience of commuters, especially senior citizens and differently abled.
