An exhibition showcasing its journey from its glorious past to the vibrant present and its journey of 60 years was organized at Churchgate railway station from 11th April to 16th April, 2011 on the occasion of 56th Railway Week. Among rare photographs and working models of trains, the Mementoes and Book sale counter also attracted a lot of people, especially rail enthusiasts. Visitors viewing the exhibition were very excited to visit the stall set up by Western Railway.
The stall had Mementoes like Replica of Fairy Queen, Rocket Engine, Magic Mugs, Engine shaped Paper Weights, Heritage Greeting Cards & Post Cards depicting old stations of Western Railways on sale. The magic mugs which on pouring hot water changes colour were especially a hit among the children. Books published by Western Railway with heritage theme, two in English 'Heritage, Traditions & Legends' and 'Western Railway - A Glorious Saga' and two in Hindi 'Dak Ticketon Ka Safar, Railway Par Vishesh Nazar' and 'Mumbai Local' were also on sale. 40 of these books were sold during the exhibition.
The mementoes received a good response, with Western Railway generating almost Rs.60,000/- through sales. 100 models of replicas of Fairy Queen, Rocket & Steam engines and paper weights were sold. The greeting cards and post cards too were in great demand as almost 160 packets of cards were sold. Children as well as rail enthusiasts appreciated the exhibition set up by Western Railway. The visitors book at the exhibition was full of appreciative comments from the visitors acknowledging the efforts taken by Railway.
