JAGJIVAN RAM HOSPITAL OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
WITH THE THEME “EACH FOR EQUAL”

International Women's Day is observed all over the world on 8thof March every year, to commemorate the social cultural and political achievements of women and marks call for an action for gender parity. W.Rly’s Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Mumbai too played its role as a part of its social awareness initiative by organizing International Women's Day Awareness campaign from 1stto 10th March, 2020.
According to press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway,Jagjivan Ram Hospital of W. Rly observed the International Women's Day with this year’s theme being 'Each for Equal', under the able leadership of Medical Director of JR Hospital - Dr Hafeezunissa and encouragement from Chief Specialists, Dr. Uma Nataraj & Dr Anuja Kulkarni - Sr. DMO (ENT). Awareness campaign was organized on 7th March, 2020 at JRH by displaying posters, broadcasting slogans. Also, on this occasion an exhibition was organized at Jagjivan Ram Hospital which was inaugurated by Dr. Hafeezunissa. A special awareness campaign was conducted on topics such as Cancer affecting Women, especially Breast and Cervical cancer as well as awareness on Corona virus, besides spreading message of gender parity amongst the attendees. This event was marked with cervical cancer screening camp being organized for ladies staff at JRH facilitated by renowned cancer patients aid association in coordination with Gynecology Department JRH. The event also involved audiovisual display, signature campaigning, street play (skit topics covered women cancer awareness, gender parity, Corona virus awareness) ,health talk by Dr Anuja Kulkarni - Sr. DMO(ENT) JRH (Head and Neck oncologist) on cervical and breast cancer awareness, sensitization on Corona virus, including demonstration of hand sanitization and mask application techniques. Team members from Civil Defense actively participated in the campaign. Guest talk also was organized by Dr Anuja Kulkarni Sr DMO JRH on stress management especially at office for all JRH Staff and doctors. Eminent faculties from Lions international Lion Santosh Kumar Chauhan and Dr Sudhir Kherde conducted the session and shared practical useful tips for dealing with workplace stress. Session concluded with a small meditation leaving audience in happy, stress free and delightful state. Female nursing staff was felicitated on this occasion by distributing rose flowers. Renowned social organizations viz Voice Against Tobacco, Lions Club, SNEHA foundation actively participated in the awareness activities.
