BLOOD DONATION DRIVE CONDUCTED BY JAGJIVAN RAM HOSPITAL & WESTERN RAILWAY MAZDOOR SANGH AT CHURCHGATE STATION

Shri Alok Kansal - General Manager of W.Rly inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Mumbai in collaboration with the recognized trade union, i.e. Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh at Churchgate station on 12th March, 2020.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, on this occasion, Shri Alok Kansal himself donated blood for the sake of humanity and needy patients. He has set an outstanding example to other railway employees by donating blood during this camp and has appealed the railway fraternity to inculcate a habit of this noble deed by mentioning that he himself has donated blood 40 times till date. Shri Kansal stated that with a strong workforce of almost one lakh odd railway employees of Western Railway in Mumbai, such deeds of kindness will go a long way and will definitely be a great relief for those in urgent need of blood. General Manager assured that Western Railway will always be happy to extend a helping hand to Govt hospitals and NGOs for conducting such blood donation drives and that the railway employees will be available at any time for blood donation for needy patients. This event was also attended by Shri J. G. Mahurkar – General Secretary of Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh, Dr. G. Sahoo - Principal Chief Medical Director of W.Rly, Shri Yatri Dave Vitekar - Chief Personnel Officer (Industrial Relations) W. Rly, Shri Parikshit Mohanpuria - Dy. General Manager (General) W. Rly and Dr. Yoganand Patil – Senior Divisional Medical Officer of Jagjivan Ram Hospital. It is worth mentioning that Western Railway has organised several blood donation camps for Govt blood banks in Mumbai across several suburban railway stations such as Churchgate, Dadar, Andheri, Borivali & Virar stations.
