WESTERN RAILWAY'S GENERAL MANAGERINAUGURATES STAFF AMENITIES IN ALL 6 DIVISIONS THROUGH VIDEO LINK on INDEPENDENCE DAY
On the auspicious occasion of 74th Independence Day, Shri Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway, inaugurated various staff amenities & technical development works carried out over all six Divisions of Western Railway through video link on 15th August, 2020 at the conference hall of WR HQ building at Churchgate. Shri Kansal inaugurated 4 staff amenities of Mumbai Central Division, one technical development of Vadodara Division, one staff amenity of Ahmedabad Division, 3 staff amenities of Ratlam Division and 2 staff amenities each of Bhavnagar & Rajkot Divisions.
According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, despite the nationwide lockdown, several staff amenities & development works have been accomplished during the lockdown. Shri Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway inaugurated these staff amenities & technical developments carried out across all six divisions, i.e., Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Ratlam. The anchoring of this ceremony & vote of thanks on this occasion, were done by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly. Shri Alok Kumar- Additional General Manager of WR & various principal heads of departments were also present on this occasion, while all Divisional Rly Managers of WR interacted with GM during their respective inauguration.
For Mumbai Division, GM Shri Kansal inaugurated the newly built Crew Lobby at Valsad. The 65 year old crew lobby got a fresh look with modern facilities & improved interior & exterior aesthetics which will give a soothing & relaxing environment for the crew to execute their duties in full efficiency. The new air-conditioned Running Room at Churchgate was also inaugurated. Shri Kansal also inaugurated the newly renovated Mahalaxmi Sports Complex and the newly built additional bedrooms in Badhwar Park colony.
During the video link with Ahmedabad Division, Shri Kansal inaugurated the newly built staff quarters near Vagpura station and in Vadodara Division, Shri Kansal inaugurated the Automatic Coach Washing Plant at the MEMU Carshed. Through the video link with Rajkot Division, newly constructed staff quarters at Khambaliya station and staff quarters at Jamwanthali were inaugurated. Connecting through video link with Bhavnagar Division, newly built staff quarters at Gondal station and Running Room at Pipavav were also inaugurated.
Through the video link with Ratlam Division, GM Shri Kansal inaugurated a mobile app for interaction with freight customers named "RAVI - Rail App for Vyapari Interaction". This app will act as a single window available for communication and save time involved with resolving problems. This unique app will also play an vital role in boosting the freight business. Shri Kansal also inaugurated an Android app "e-Samadhan" which will act as an Unified Digital Platform for employees to register grievance /complaints pertaining to different departments in one place. It will also work as a two-way communication module which will not only function as a multi-department grievance system but as an ID card generator, where employees will submit their required details directly to generate ID card by themselves. Shri Kansal also inauguratedvarious infrastructural developments at the Dewas Goods Shed. These Infra developments will be beneficial for all concerned persons & will boost the freight business activities in this goods shed. In efforts to maintain the new norms of social distancing, Western Railway approached the idea of successfully inaugurating various staff amenities & technical development works at the click of a button, at the Western Railway'sHeadquarters at Churchgate on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day.
