RPF PERSONNEL APPREHENDS TWO PERSONS WITH DAGGERS AT SURAT RAILWAY STATION

Western Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel are always on the forefront to protect and secure the lives of passengers. In yet another instance of keen surveillance, two passengers hiding dangerous & sharp daggers in their luggage were caught by the alertness of the on-duty RPF staff and handed over to GRP for further legal action.
According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, while working as under cover surveillance on 1st August, 2021, constable Amit Kumar of CPDS team noticed two persons with heavy bags deboarding from the sleeper coach of Train No. 02996 Ajmer - Bandra Express. on probing them for details, they were unable to give satisfactory answers and hence, were brought to the RPF office for further questioning. They revealed their names as Ejaz alias Ajju, aged 24 years and Asif alias Kalia, aged 29 years. on checking their bags, three naked sharp daggers costing about Rs. 3,500/- were found in one of the bags while three more sharp-edged daggers costing about Rs.4,000/-were found in the other person’s bag. A total of six sharp-edged daggers were recovered from the above two persons with total cost of Rs.7,500/-. Later, both the persons were handed over to GRP/ST police station along with written memo and Mudmamal for further legal action wherein cases have been registered under section 135 of G.P Act.
